Beyond the Deep Water is an original large blue and green abstract seascape painting by Tatiana Malinovscaia, created in 2026.
Measuring 85 × 120 cm, this one-of-a-kind acrylic artwork combines deep ocean blues, emerald and teal tones, warm neutrals, and expressive textures inspired by water, changing weather, and distant coastal landscapes.
While creating this painting, I imagined looking across the sea at the moment when the atmosphere begins to change. Dense clouds still occupy the sky, but fragments of brightness appear across the water, revealing unexpected turquoise and green depths beneath the darker surface. I wanted to capture not a particular coastline, but the feeling of looking beyond what is immediately visible—toward distance, movement, and something still unknown.
Strong horizontal passages suggest water and distant land, while fragmented textures dissolve the landscape into abstraction. Deep navy and charcoal areas descend into elongated reflections, contrasting with luminous whites, blue-greys, turquoise, and emerald tones.
I developed the surface with professional acrylic paints using palette knives, brushes, glazing, scraping, dry-brush techniques, dripping, layering, and expressive impasto applications. Dense tactile areas meet softer translucent passages, creating depth and subtle variations as natural light moves across the painting.
The palette combines deep navy, midnight blue, charcoal, black, muted turquoise, teal, emerald green, sea green, blue-grey, smoky grey, warm ivory, cream, beige, taupe, mocha, espresso brown, white, and earthy ochre accents. No gold or metallic paint is used; the warmer accents are natural ochre and brown tones.
With its substantial 85 × 120 cm vertical format, Beyond the Deep Water creates a striking focal point for a living room, bedroom, entrance hall, dining area, or contemporary office.
