Ochre Tidal Reflections is an original contemporary abstract seascape painting inspired by the layered atmosphere of coastal landscapes.

While creating this piece, I was drawn to the subtle dialogue between sky, water and distant land. Instead of depicting a literal place, I translated this feeling of open space and shifting light into expressive textures and flowing color fields.

Soft blue tones emerge through atmospheric greys and pale ivory layers, suggesting the movement of light across water. Darker passages of charcoal and deep earth tones anchor the composition, while accents of warm ochre introduce depth and a natural warmth that contrasts beautifully with the cooler palette.

I built the surface through multiple layers of acrylic paint using palette knife techniques and textured brushwork. Some areas reveal thick tactile strokes, while others remain smooth and translucent, allowing gentle transitions of color to appear through the layers.

From a distance, the painting feels expansive and serene. Up close, the textured surface reveals intricate details and the physical gestures of the painting process.

This large contemporary abstract seascape painting was created to bring atmosphere and depth into modern interiors. The refined palette of blue, grey, ivory and ochre integrates naturally with minimalist spaces, contemporary homes and elegant architectural environments.

The artwork is signed, dated and titled on the reverse and ships in a tube. This method is particularly safe for oversized works and ensures lower transport costs. Rolled works may be easily stretched upon arrival (placed on wooden stretchers for canvases) and/or framed by a local framer.
