“Parallel Currents” is a large-scale abstract diptych consisting of two original acrylic paintings on canvas, each measuring 100 × 140 cm.
This diptych was created as a dialogue between two surfaces that move independently yet remain deeply connected. I worked intuitively, allowing elongated vertical flows to form naturally, guiding the eye upward and downward through layered transitions. Soft beige, warm sand, and earthy brown tones establish a grounded base, while cool blue-grey and muted teal accents introduce contrast and depth. Subtle metallic highlights catch the light, revealing texture and movement without overpowering the composition.
My technique combines fluid brushwork, controlled pours, and layered acrylic applications. Some areas are smooth and translucent, while others are richly textured, built up with a palette knife and softened by gentle blending. Fine linear details and organic edges give the diptych a sense of rhythm, as if both panels are breathing together while maintaining their own character.
