Silver Tide Over Earth Layers is a contemporary vertical abstract painting that explores the meeting of light, texture, and grounded depth.
I created this work using layered acrylic techniques, allowing each element to develop gradually across the surface. The upper part of the painting opens with soft tones of blue, pale grey, and muted ivory, creating a sense of air and light. These lighter areas transition into deeper layers below — rich browns, charcoal, and earthy tones — forming a strong, grounded base.
The composition is built with palette knife and expressive brushwork, giving the surface a tactile, textured quality. Subtle shifts in tone and layered details create movement, while the vertical format enhances the feeling of flow and elevation.
