Framing: Unframed, ready to hang “Held Between Light and Matter” is an original abstract acrylic painting created on stretched canvas, measuring 40 × 40 cm. This work grew out of my fascination with balance — the quiet space where light, surface, and texture coexist without competing.
I built the composition through multiple translucent layers of acrylic, allowing soft beige, warm sand, cool grey, muted blue, and deep charcoal tones to merge naturally. Thin linear accents and delicate vertical drips introduce rhythm and structure, while subtle ochre touches bring warmth and depth without overpowering the neutral palette.
Using a palette knife alongside controlled brushwork, I focused on creating texture that feels tactile yet refined. The upper area remains airy and luminous, while the lower layers ground the painting with heavier textures and gentle contrasts. From a distance, the piece feels calm and expansive; up close, it reveals a rich surface full of detail and movement.
This painting is designed for contemporary interiors — modern, minimalist, Scandinavian, or elegant neutral spaces. It brings a sense of calm presence and visual depth, making it ideal for living rooms, bedrooms, offices, or curated gallery walls.
“Held Between Light and Matter” invites the viewer to pause, breathe, and simply experience the quiet strength of layered form and colour.
