I created this painting inspired by the moment when rain has just passed over the sea. The clouds begin to clear, soft daylight returns, and the water reflects a changing sky. I wanted to capture that fleeting feeling of freshness and renewal, when even a familiar landscape seems completely new.
The composition combines dusty blue, silver grey, misty white, and warm ivory with subtle touches of taupe, sandy beige, and earthy brown. A contrasting band of deep charcoal and black suggests a distant shoreline, while luminous white passages evoke reflections across the water.
Using palette knives, brushes, and layered acrylic techniques, I developed expressive scraped textures and delicate horizontal details that bring depth and movement to the composition.
For me, this artwork represents the beauty of new beginnings and the quiet optimism that follows a storm.
