Tides of Earth and Blue is an original large blue and beige abstract seascape painting by Tatiana Malinovscaia, created in 2026.
Measuring 80 × 120 cm, this one-of-a-kind acrylic artwork combines atmospheric shades of aqua blue and turquoise with warm beige, earthy brown, ochre, charcoal, and deep navy.
While creating this painting, I was thinking about places where water constantly reshapes the landscape. I imagined a shoreline after the tide has moved away—shallow pools reflecting the sky, darker areas of wet earth, and warm traces of sand appearing between cooler expanses of water.
I did not want to reproduce a particular coastline. Instead, I followed the feeling of a landscape that never remains completely still, where water, earth, and atmosphere continuously transform one another.
Broad horizontal passages suggest distant water, shoreline, and reflections. Luminous areas of pale blue and white create a sense of openness, while deeper navy, charcoal, and earthy tones give the composition depth and visual weight. Warm ochre and rust-brown accents appear between the cooler layers like traces left behind by retreating water.
I developed the surface with professional acrylic paints using palette knives, brushes, glazing, scraping, dry-brush techniques, layering, dripping, and expressive impasto applications. Dense textured passages contrast with softer atmospheric areas, allowing the composition to move naturally between recognizable landscape and abstraction.
The palette combines soft aqua blue, pale turquoise, powder blue, blue-grey, slate grey, deep navy, charcoal, warm white, ivory, cream, beige, taupe, sand, ochre, rust brown, burnt umber, and espresso brown.
Tides of Earth and Blue is intentionally open to interpretation. Depending on the viewer, it may evoke a coastline, tidal water, reflected clouds, distant land, or simply an atmospheric abstract landscape created through color, texture, and movement.
With its generous 80 × 120 cm vertical format, the painting creates a strong focal point for a living room, bedroom, entrance hall, dining area, or contemporary office. Its combination of blue, beige, and natural earth tones works particularly well with Modern, Contemporary, Coastal, Organic Modern, Japandi, Scandinavian, and neutral interiors.
