Aligned Tension was created as an exploration of structure meeting emotion.
I worked on this abstract acrylic painting in multiple layers, allowing vertical and horizontal lines to intersect naturally while preserving a sense of openness and restraint. Cool blue and soft ice tones flow alongside warm earthy browns, beige, and off-white, creating contrast without visual overload. The composition is anchored by strong linear elements, while textured brushwork and subtle drips soften the geometry and reveal the process beneath the surface.
I applied acrylic paint using both brushes and a palette knife, building depth through scraped layers, washes, and controlled marks. Some areas feel calm and expansive, others more concentrated and expressive — together they create a balanced tension that keeps the eye moving across the canvas.
