Where the Light Settles is an original blue and grey abstract seascape diptych by Tatiana Malinovscaia, created in 2026. This two-panel acrylic painting on canvas combines atmospheric coastal scenery, expressive textures, and a refined neutral palette.
I created this diptych inspired by the beautiful moment when a storm begins to pass and daylight slowly returns to the water. I wanted to capture the contrast between the dramatic energy of changing weather and the peaceful feeling that follows.

The first painting features deep charcoal, graphite grey, earthy brown, and textured white, while the second introduces softer shades of dusty blue, silver grey, warm ivory, and pale beige. Delicate horizontal lines suggest distant shorelines and reflections, connecting the two compositions.

Using palette knives, brushes, and layered acrylic techniques, I developed expressive scraped textures, sweeping strokes, and subtle details that give each canvas its own character.

For me, this artwork represents renewal—the quiet beauty of finding light after moments of uncertainty.

With its sophisticated colors and complementary compositions, this contemporary abstract diptych creates an elegant focal point in modern living rooms, bedrooms, offices, and minimalist interiors.

Original acrylic diptych on canvas, 2026. Two paintings, each 50 × 70 cm (19.7 × 27.6 in), vertical orientation. Combined size approximately 100 × 70 cm (39.4 × 27.6 in), excluding spacing. Both canvases are stretched on wooden bars, ready to hang. Signed on the front. Certificate of Authenticity included.
