Large Abstract Diptych Painting on Canvas

I created this diptych as a conversation between light, reflection, and open atmospheric space — two connected paintings flowing together as one continuous visual experience.
Working with acrylic on canvas, I developed each panel through multiple layered applications using palette knife and expressive brushwork. Shades of pale blue, lavender, soft blush, ivory, white, charcoal, deep black, and warm ochre create depth, movement, and luminous contrast while preserving a calm contemporary atmosphere.

The compositions interact through reflective textures, layered transitions, and darker grounded passages that anchor the paintings visually. Light seems to move gently across the surfaces, dissolving into soft lavender and silver-blue tones while textured layers create openness and rhythm throughout both panels.

I wanted this diptych to feel expansive and immersive — like standing before reflective water touched by shifting light and atmosphere. The textured surfaces react beautifully to changing natural light, revealing delicate nuances of pale blue, blush lavender, ivory, charcoal, black, and warm ochre throughout the day.
