Original Contemporary Abstract Triptych from the Oceanic Geometry Collection
Tidal Axis is an original contemporary abstract triptych from my Oceanic Geometry collection, created in 2026. This one-of-a-kind set of three large acrylic paintings explores the hidden relationship between architecture, water, and light through balanced geometry, layered textures, and atmospheric depth.
While creating this triptych, I imagined the quiet elegance of a contemporary waterfront where architecture becomes part of the sea. Reflections dissolve solid structures into soft horizons, while light transforms simple geometric forms into an ever-changing landscape. Rather than painting a specific location, I translated the rhythm of the coastline into abstract compositions that express calm, openness, and spatial harmony.
Each canvas has its own visual identity, yet together they create a seamless panoramic composition. The paintings interact through repeating architectural lines, layered reflections, and subtle variations of colour, inviting the eye to move naturally from one canvas to the next. The result is a dynamic yet peaceful installation that changes character as natural light moves across the textured surfaces throughout the day.
Built through multiple layers of professional acrylic paint, the triptych combines palette knife work, brushes, scraping techniques, and expressive gestural mark-making. Every layer remains visible, creating exceptional depth, tactile texture, and rich tonal transitions that reward close observation.
A sophisticated palette of ivory white, soft blue, pale grey, charcoal black, warm taupe, earthy brown, and deep espresso creates a timeless contemporary atmosphere. Cool blue tones evoke calm water and expansive skies, while darker architectural forms introduce balance, structure, and quiet contrast. Together, these colours create a refined aesthetic that complements modern interiors without overwhelming the space.
Although entirely abstract, Tidal Axis often evokes contemporary marinas, luxury waterfront architecture, reflective harbours, peaceful coastlines, and distant horizons. It invites each viewer to discover a personal interpretation while bringing a feeling of serenity, balance, and understated elegance into the surrounding environment.
