Large Purple Blue Abstract Seascape Painting on Canvas
I created this painting as an exploration of soft atmospheric light reflected across open water — a moment where color, texture, and space dissolve into calm movement.
Working with acrylic on canvas, I developed the composition through multiple layered applications using palette knife and expressive brushwork. Shades of pale blue, lavender, ivory, white, charcoal, and warm ochre create depth and contrast while preserving an airy and luminous atmosphere.
The composition is centered around reflective open space where light appears to move gently across the surface. Darker passages create grounding and depth, while soft lavender and silver-blue transitions introduce openness and subtle movement. Layered textures, expressive marks, and delicate drips bring rhythm and material richness to the painting.
I wanted this work to feel immersive yet calming — a composition that invites stillness while remaining full of movement and light. The textured surface changes beautifully throughout the day, revealing delicate nuances of pale blue, blush lavender, ivory, charcoal, and warm ochre depending on the surrounding light.
This large abstract seascape painting is designed for modern interiors and works beautifully as wall art above a console, in a living room, bedroom, office, hallway, or contemporary architectural space. Its vertical format and elegant neutral palette make it ideal for minimalist, Scandinavian, Japandi, modern, or luxury interiors.
For me, this painting is about light softening space — a quiet atmosphere carried through texture and reflection.
