Beyond the Blue Divide is an original contemporary blue abstract seascape diptych by artist Tatiana Malinovscaia, created in 2026. Featuring two acrylic paintings on canvas, each measuring 60 × 90 cm, this artwork captures the dramatic beauty of deep ocean waters, shifting skies, and luminous reflections.
I created this diptych inspired by the endless transformations of the sea. I wanted the two paintings to express different moods of the same imagined landscape—one mysterious and dramatic, the other open and filled with light.
Rich shades of indigo blue, midnight blue, navy, and charcoal contrast with luminous icy blue, turquoise, soft azure, pale aqua, and misty grey. Delicate white reflections and subtle earthy accents bring depth and movement to the composition. Using palette knives and brushes, I combined layering, glazing, scraping, and expressive gestures to create textured surfaces and atmospheric transitions. Strong horizontal lines suggest distant shorelines, while delicate vertical marks introduce a contemporary geometric character.
For me, this diptych represents the delicate relationship between darkness and light, stillness and movement. Its sophisticated blue palette creates a captivating focal point for modern, minimalist, and coastal-inspired interiors.
One-of-a-kind original acrylic diptych, 2026. Two stretched canvases, 60 × 90 cm each. Combined size approximately 120 × 90 cm, excluding the gap. Ready to hang, signed on the front. Certificate of Authenticity included.
