Botanical Interruption is an original contemporary abstract floral painting by Tatiana Malinovscaia, created in 2026.
Measuring 60 × 100 × 2 cm, this one-of-a-kind acrylic painting combines architectural geometry with expressive botanical forms in a sophisticated neutral palette. While creating this artwork, I was interested in the contrast between structure and spontaneity. Strong vertical and horizontal forms establish an architectural foundation, while the central abstract bloom appears to break through this ordered space. For me, it represents the moment when something organic and unpredictable transforms a carefully constructed environment.
The painting is built through multiple layers of professional acrylic paint using palette knives, brushes, glazing, scraping, dry-brush techniques, dripping, and expressive freehand line work. Fine black gestures move freely across the composition, while the textured ivory-white botanical form creates a dramatic focal point. The refined palette combines warm beige, taupe, mocha brown, deep espresso, charcoal black, smoky grey, ivory, cream, and white. Transparent layers, textured passages, and contrasting geometric areas create depth and subtle tonal variations that become increasingly visible as natural light changes.
Although inspired by botanical forms, Botanical Interruption remains intentionally abstract. The composition can suggest flowers, branches, architectural structures, or simply the relationship between organic movement and geometric order, leaving space for personal interpretation.
