Parallel Ground is an original large-scale abstract diptych created in 2026.
Composed of two one-of-a-kind acrylic paintings, each measuring 120 × 90 cm, this contemporary artwork explores the relationship between structure, movement, reflection, and the subtle contrast between warm and cool neutral tones.
While creating this diptych, I wanted the two canvases to feel connected without becoming mirror images. They share a common visual rhythm, yet each has its own character. Strong vertical elements intersect broad horizontal passages, while softer textured areas dissolve around them. Together, the paintings create a dialogue between stability and movement, precision and spontaneity.
I developed the surfaces gradually through multiple layers of professional acrylic paint, using palette knives, brushes, scraping, glazing, dry-brush techniques, and expressive mark-making. Some areas were built up while others were partially removed, allowing earlier layers to remain visible and creating rich tactile depth.
The refined palette combines warm beige, sand, taupe, mocha brown, ivory white, greige, stone grey, charcoal, and black. One canvas carries warmer earthy tones while the other introduces cooler grey passages. This subtle contrast connects the two paintings while giving each panel an individual identity.
Although entirely abstract, Parallel Ground may suggest contemporary architecture, reflections on water, weathered surfaces, distant landscapes, or structural forms reduced to their essential lines. I intentionally leave these associations open, allowing each viewer to discover a personal interpretation within the layers.
Displayed together, the two paintings create an impressive composition approximately 180 × 120 cm before spacing. Their generous scale makes Parallel Ground an elegant statement artwork for large living rooms, dining areas, bedrooms, entrance halls, executive offices, boutique hotels, and contemporary residences.
Its sophisticated neutral palette works beautifully with Japandi, Organic Modern, Minimalist, Wabi-Sabi, Scandinavian, Modern Classic, and Contemporary Luxury interiors. For me, Parallel Ground is about two independent structures finding a common rhythm — separate surfaces connected by an invisible visual line.
